Reading assignments are on the syllabus. 
The following are due dates for assignments to hand in,
the midterm and your presentations.

bulletAssignment 1: Internet Procedures - Due to me by September 9, 2002
Access your e-mail.  Send me your preferred e-mail address. 
This can be a Hofstra address or any other you are using. 
Review the links on my business site and begin to become familiar
with resources dealing with grants on the internet.

bulletAssignment 2: Submit Your Proposal Topic - Due September 19, 2002
Submit your proposal topic. I prefer that you send it to me in e-mail,
but you may submit it in class.

bulletMidterm Exam
The exam will be a take-home test.  I will distribute it in e-mail by October 10, 2002.
It also will be posted on the web page: Follow this link.
It is due back to me no later than October 24, 2002.

bulletAssignment 3: Needs Assessment - Due October 17, 2002
Bring your draft needs assessment to class. We will be working on refining them during this class
 workshop period.

bulletAssignment 4: Procedures Section - Due November 7, 2002

Assignment 5: The Budget - Due November 21, 2002
Your budgets should be in line-item format, specifying each expense required
for the project.  You must prepare a budget even if the funding source
does not require it.  If your selected source has a budget form, use that. 
If not, use the model presented in class.

bulletAssignment 6: Oral Presentation  - December 5 and December 12, 2002.
Each student or team will make a presentation of approximately 10 minutes
describing the work conducted during the semester.  You should include a
description of the project, how you researched and arrived at your final list
of sources and the rationale for choosing them. 
 
bulletAssignment 7: Final Paper - December 12, 2002.

Requirements for Term Paper

Each student will be responsible for the preparation of a grant proposal,
based on an actual or hypothetical case to be developed by the student.

The structure for the paper will be the following:

Section 1 - A brief (one page) description of the PROJECT,
including a discussion of the policy issues addressed by the project.

Section 2 - A discussion of the process followed to obtain the
final list of funding sources.

Section 3 - The final (short) list of potential funding sources
and justification for the inclusion of each.

Section 4 - The Proposal
